Baird has a long tradition of giving back to the communities in which our associates live and work.
Baird Gives Back Week is an annual week the corporation recognizes for Baird associates to dedicate volunteer time in their communities. The mission of Baird Gives Back Week is to broaden and deepen associate involvement in local volunteer opportunities. Firm wide, more than 1,700 associates and family members from over 78 global Baird locations donated 6,000 hours to nearly 130 nonprofit organizations in 2017. These outstanding results are a clear indication of our long-standing commitment to giving back to the communities in which we live and work.
2017 Baird Gives Back Week
In 2017, associates from the Green Bay branch volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul doing various tasks such as sorting donations, pricing clothes, facing inventory, and more. We were also able to provide a monetary charitable donation with proceeds that were raised from our annual paper shredding and electronic recycling event.
2015 Baird Gives Back Week
In 2015, many associates from our Green Bay branch volunteered at a local food pantry – Paul’s Pantry, and a local school – St. Thomas Moore.
2015 “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes”
In Green Bay, Wisconsin, Baird volunteers supported Golden House, which provides a variety of services and shelter to those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. Lori Cisler, Financial Advisor, is a board member of Golden House and introduced Baird’s office to its “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event, which calls on men to take a stand against violence against women by raising pledges and walking a mile in red high heels. Ken Petter, Branch Manager, challenged the office to raise $1,000 for the cause and if they met the goal, agreed to wear red stilettos for an entire day. Green Bay associates, relatives and clients came together to raise the funds – and Ken, true to his word, wore his ruby shoes around the office on May 14.
