Community involvement is part of the Baird culture—we are encouraged to maintain a balance between home, community, and work. Baird associates are encouraged to organize and participate in fund-raising events for many causes, including education, health and human services, and the arts.
Since Baird opened its doors in 1919, we have acted on our commitment to give back to the communities we serve.
Some of the foundations we are honored to support are:
Make-A-Wish: Tens of thousands of volunteers, donors and supporters advance the Make-A-Wish® vision to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a critical illness. In the United States and its territories, on average, a wish is granted every 34 minutes. They believe a wish experience can be a game-changer and that wishes are more than just a nice thing. This belief guides them and inspires them to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids who are served.
The Better Angels Society: The Better Angels Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating Americans about their history through documentary film. Their goal is to educate, engage and provoke thoughtful discussion among people of every political persuasion and ideology. They work to ensure historically significant films are completed, broadcasted, promoted, and shared in ways that reach and inform as many people as possible through robust educational and civic outreach.
